Film Releases

Green Lantern: In Brightest Days. In Blackest Nights: 17th June 2011
"The fate of the earth in his hands"
Oh No! Not another Superhero movie!
Yes, it's summer time again and all the Superhero movies are filling up the cinema screens, including X-men: First Class and Thor. (Some may count Kung Fu Panda 2)
Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) is a cocky test pilot who thinks he's god's gift and doesn't have a care in the world. But unbeknown to him his whole world is going to be turned upside down. The Green Lantern Corps has "championed" the cause of "intergalactic peace and justice". Each Green Lantern is in possession of one power ring. Now a deadly enemy has emerged, Parallax, who is on a mission to smash the world into chaos and destroy life as we know it.  Hal must pull himself together and take control as he finds the entire future and the fate of those on earth in his hands. Hal is granted his own otherworldly powers, as well as membership into an intergalactic squadron. With the, not so very useful, support of his childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), Hal must quickly master his new powers and embarks on a road that will lead him to discovery and prove that not only is he the key to defeating Parallax.........But has become greatest Green Lantern of them all.
Movies Online sat down with Ryan Reynolds and Blake lively to talk about their new film 'Green Lantern' and what it was like to bring the enduringly popular superhero to the big screen for the first time. Ryan Reynolds spoke about the 'suit' (or lack of) that he had to wear. "The suit is made of pure energy, so there is no actual suit because that would burn. What I'm wearing is a motion capture suit with tracking marks and tracking dots." He then went on to comment on how this felt "That was a little bizarre. I sort of looked like a crash test dummy that had lost his Volvo walking around the sound stage there."
Knowing this does put a downer on the film as it doesn't make it very believable and ruins the whole creative side of the film.
Users of the IMDB- Internet movie database are all in agreement that the release of 'Green Lantern' will be a huge success. Many have left comments on the IMDB website of their thought on performances and the film as a whole.
"Ryan Reynolds is good as always and Mark Strong delivered a strong performance as well"
"All I can say is that I was extremely impressed with this film"
"This movie is heavy on special effects and they are SPECTACULAR"

Bad Teacher: 17th June 2011
This is an absolute 'must see', great actors and hilarious gags are a recipe to brighten up anyone's day.
'She's the Worst role model imaginable'
Who on earth would give someone like Elizabeth Halsey a job in a school working with children?
Especially, very influential and rebellious teenagers, might I add.
'Meet Elizabeth Halsey' (Cameron Diaz) who is simple just one 'Bad Teacher'. Her inappropriate and scantily dress sense is just for starters. Elizabeth swears like a trooper and is frequently hungover.  It gets worse; she's often sky high on drugs. 'She's the Worst role model imaginable'. These minor indiscretions don't bother the likes of Elizabeth Halsey, not when they're about to get hitched to their unwilling sugar-daddy to lead a life of glamour and luxury. Ha, well she better think again.  With the arrival of one handsome and very wealthy new substitute teacher Scott Delacorte (Justin Timberlake) it's sure to put a twist on things. Elizabeth is known for her lack of friendship and annoyance to people like quirky Amy. But When there's a bonus on offer to the teacher whose pupils score the highest class average- it means war-'And Elizabeth's chief rival is' - yep you guessed it! - Amy. Can Elizabeth lie and cheat her way to the goal, win her man and keep her job?
'She doesn't give an "F" '
The humour is very funny, and keeps the story running smoothly through to the rather tame finish, t she holds the movie up well
"Jason Segel is equally funny as the gym teacher"
"Diaz is effective and funny"
"Chuckle-worthy nonetheless"

Bridesmaids: 22nd June 2011
If you thought the guys from 'The Hangover' were trouble well these women cause a hell of a lot more mayhem and a wedding full of drama, in this girl- giggling comedy.
Looking for some laughs and advice on 'How NOT to organise a bachelorette party' than this film is perfect.
"Four unruly and outrageous bridesmaids"
Okay so no one's life is perfect but it's not absolutely terrible either, but for Annie (Kristen Wigg) her life is literally becoming a big mess. To add to herself pity she then discovers that she is ranked third in her obnoxious boyfriend's (John Hamm), 'Friends with benefits' lists. And having a dreadful mother doesn't help either. Lillian's wedding is enough to get Annie all fired up, especially as she been asked to be Maid of Honour. From a dull, miserable and emotional relationship and life, Annie is forced into taking charge of four unruly and outrageous bridesmaids. You have childish, excitable, 'Disney-loving' Becca (Ellie Kemper) and 'wealthy perfectionist' Helen (Rise Byrne) who's going out of her way to steal Annie's Maid of Honour role. In addition there are two very strange and very unlikely bridesmaids, the drunken housewife Rita (Wendi McClendon-Covey) and overweight motor mouth Megan, who, to be honest, should be working at a junk yard not trying on bridesmaid dresses.(Melissa McCarthy).  Annie, is clearly out of her mind when thinking that taking the girls to Las Vegas for a bachelorette party." And we all know what happens in Vegas......"
IMDB- Internet movie database has had many great reviews from those who are lucky enough to have seen a preview.

3D-Transformer: Dark Moon: 29TH June 2011
The Autobots and Decepticons are back and are ready for another explosive battle and to bring uproar to a cinema near you. But this time the action is bigger and better as it is brought to you all in 3D
The Autobots and the Decepticons are on a race, not against time, but each other to get to the moon first after learning that this is where the 'Cybertronian Spacecraft' is hidden and be the first to reveal its secrets.
The Autobots and Decepticons have been at war with each other long before earth began. During the mist of the 1960's 'Space Race' a 'Gargantuan crashed spacecraft' was discovered on the 'Dark side' of the moon. Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots is on a mission to lead the other Autobots, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Rachet and sideswipe to the 'Cybertronian Spacecraft' and lead his team to victory before Megatron, the very scary, ugly looking one, and his Decepticons. With the help from their earthman Sam Wickwicky (Shia LaBeouf) and his leading lady (Rosie Huntington-Whitely) the Autobots are onto a sure to win. But this battle is far from over as the tide turns as they have to take on the new super villain: Shockwave. With spectacular battle sequences and fantastic effect this is a great lead up to an awesome final showdown between rivals.
Some people who commented on 'movie reviews' were lucky enough to go and see an advanced screening of 'Transformers: Dark Moon in the USA and theses were there comments;
"I came out thinking "wow!!"
"The 3D in this movie was incredible"
"The performances in this movie was incredible"
"The special effects were just out of this world"
"I don't know how Michael bay fits 20+ robots on the screen at the same time"
"It's just genius"
This film is set to be a hit in many countries and an amazing yet respectable third part of the Autobots story so far. This film is going to be a sell out at all cinema screenings.
